Specifications
ASTM A789/ ASME SA789 steel pipe covers seamless and welded ferritic/austenitic stainless steel tubing for general services. The standard is also applied to duplex stainless steel tube material. All tubes in this standard shall be furnished with heat-treated conditions according to specified temperature and quench conditions. When the final heat treatment is in a continuous furnace, or when heat-treated condition is obtained directly by quenching after hot forming, the number of tubes of the same size and from the same heat lot shall be determined from the prescribed sizes of the tubes.
ASTM A789 ASME SA 789 SAF2507 UNS S32750 Stainless Steel is super duplex stainless steel with 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel designed for demanding applications which require exceptional strength and corrosion resistance, such as chemical process, petrochemical, and seawater equipment. The steel has excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, high thermal conductivity, and a low coefficient of thermal expansion.
