ASTM A376 TP316LN is a specification for seamless austenitic steel tubes where "LN" stands for Low Nitrogen. This grade combines a low carbon content (0.030% max) for superior corrosion resistance with a controlled nitrogen addition (0.10-0.16%) to increase strength. This creates a material with excellent properties for demanding environments.
ASTM A376 TP316LN tubing is applied in highly corrosive and high-stress environments, particularly where the combination of superior intergranular corrosion resistance in the welded condition and high mechanical strength is a critical design requirement, such as in nuclear, chemical, and marine applications.
