Specifications



ASTM A376 TP348 Stainless Steel Tube is a seamless austenitic stainless steel tube specifically designed for high-temperature service, particularly in nuclear applications. The grade is stabilized with niobium (columbium), which prevents chromium carbide precipitation during welding or high-temperature exposure, thereby ensuring exceptional resistance to intergranular corrosion.


A defining characteristic of TP348 is its strictly controlled cobalt content (typically limited to 0.20% maximum), which minimizes the formation of long-lived radioactive isotopes, such as Cobalt-60, under neutron irradiation in nuclear environments. This tube exhibits excellent high-temperature strength, oxidation resistance, and microstructural stability, making it suitable for critical components in nuclear power systems, including heat exchangers and steam generator tubes, while also being applied in superheaters and reformers in conventional power and petrochemical industries where stringent material purity and performance are required.
